Work Experience Launch!
In March the BDMA organised work experience evenings for students at both Brighton Aldridge Community Academy and Portslade Aldridge Community Academy so that they could familiarise themselves with what employers in the digital media industry can offer. Representatives came from multiple employers from around Brighton to speak to students in a “speed dating” set-up where they had five minutes at each table to get a taste of what it might be like to do work experience there.
Students will now submit their top five choices and the companies will invite them to start their work experience week later in the year. Then they will go through a rigorous interview process that each company defines, to eventually get accepted to their work experience post.
This is an excellent opportunity for local companies to identify future employees and to meet them personally before they start their work experience placements.
Companies that kindly participated in the events were Brand Watch, Pegasus, iCrossing, SiteVisibility, MakerClub, Ricochet, Pragmatic, Factory Films, Further My Future, JollyWise, Graphite Digital, Latest TV, Bright Wave, Propellernet, and Ocasta.
